RULES - Foreign Participants

The participant must respect all the following rules:

  • Strictly observe the content of the course and do not change the goals of your trip to Brazil;
  • Do not stop the progress, or miss training hours without the prior permission of the Coordinator of the course, even for health care - unless the treatment is proven in case of emergency or serious illness, characterizing inability to the continuation of training (Insurance);
  • Prepare reports, presentations, seminars, as defined in the course schedule;
  • Use appropriate clothing and safety equipment stipulated in advance as required;
  • Comply with the rules of the coordinating institution and the institutions in which training is undertaken, study or visit;
  • Not be accompanied by any family member, dependent or friend who is not participating in the course;
  • Do not engage in illegal activities;
  • Do not commit acts considered inappropriate;
  • Behave and dress in appropriate professional way, and act with civility;
  • The participant cannot be under compulsory military service.

Pay attention also to the following standards:

  • Do not extend the training period and permanence in Brazil beyond the established by the Coordinating Institution and JICA, returning to the country of origin at the end of the course, in accordance with the airfare scheduled by JICA and Coordinator institution - do not rescheduled your ticket without prior authorization of the Course Coordinators.
  • Comply with the laws and conditions stipulated by the Government of Brazil, the country of origin and transit countries during your trip (visa, insurance, registration, etc).
  • Comply with the laws established by the Government of Brazil during their stay in the country (foreign law);
  • Do not engage in political activities;
  • Refrain from activities or any form of paid employment for gain or profit;
  • Do not engage in social welfare activities.

IMPORTANT:

LANGUAGE:

The courses are usually taught in Portuguese (Brazilian), however there will be trainings available in other languages (French, Spanish, English) so it is essential that the candidate checks the language in which the course will be offered, it is necessary to have sufficient knowledge of language indicated in the specification of the course  (speaking and spelling above the intermediate level), so the successful completion of the course will not compromised. It is noteworthy that the courses will have assessment and these will also be in the indicated language. It is also recommended a good knowledge of English language for further reading, even in the case of courses taught in Portuguese.

PREGNANCY:

To avoid health complications and participation in courses (laboratory and field activities) that may endanger your health and your pregnancy, and complications during international and national flights (aviation regulations) participants should inform their pregnant condition by a medical certificate in which the doctor confirms good progress and current time of pregnancy, allowing her to participate in all activities related to the course schedule and any travel during the course period. Be sure to inquire all the information about courses activates, as some due to field or laboratory disciplines  may involve health risks to the candidate and its gestation, , não poderão permitir a participação de candidatas grávidas.

SPECIAL NEEDS:

Aiming the successful completion of the course content, participants are asked to inform the need for special equipment and suitable facilities for any special needs.

WITHDRAWALS / ABSENCES:

The withdrawal after the airfare ticketing and receiving of the daily payment or no-attendance / no-use due to unexcused absences to the activities of the course, even for medical treatment (non-emergency), will result in contract termination with the Coordinator Institution and JICA, dispensing them from the payment of any costs - forcing the participant / Institution that indicated him in his country of origin  to pay for the refund of expenses incurred for the coming of the foreign participation.

VACCINES: It is recommended that candidate, if selected, vaccinate against yellow fever at least 10 days prior to the trip to Brazil. Be sure about the need for other vaccines under "additional requirements" of each course, the Embassy / Consulate of Brazil in their country of origin should be consulted to confirm the need of any other vaccine.
